Blast Furnace Boss Guide WOD

The Blackrock clan's unique ability to smelt the black ore, a substance so dense that ordinary flame does not even soften it, has always been their most closely-guarded secret. Deep within the Foundry, their furnace contains a primal force as old as Draenor itself, raging within the confines of its prison as it emanates a preternatural heat.

Raid setup

Depends on amount of ppl. In General, 2 tanks and 1 healer for every 3 player.

Blast Furnace fight has three phases

  • The goal is to fight your way to kill “Hearth of the Mountain”. And to do that, the heart needs to be out of the Blast Furnace and not heated.

  • In Phase 1 you have to disable 2 Heat Regulators on each side by using bombs.

  • In Phase 2 the hearth of the Mountain is out and not heated, BUT, you have to kill the 4 Primal Elementalists that are guarding it.

  • In Phase 3 you have to kill Hearth of the Mountain.

At pull

  • Split the Raid in two groups. 50/50 meaning 1 tank in each side and healers split equally and dps (ranged and melee mixed) split equally.

  • If healers cannot be split equally, then the extra healer goes to that group in which the mini boss called Foreman Feldspar will be tanked.

  • One tank handles Foreman Feldspar, take him from middle to the side you were assigned to.

  • Spread out minimum 5y from each other

  • It starts with 1 Guard, 1 Engineer and 1 Operator on each side. Foreman Feldspar in the middle.

Phase 1 - Sabotage

The goal is to control all the mobs that spawns while trying to disable the regulators that are located on opposite sides of the Furnace.

  • If a player is targeted by BOMB, then he/she moves to the Heat Regulator on that side player was assigned to from start. Stand on the Regulator until detonation see image below, were the regulators are. 

Kill order on Left side - Star side

1) Operator -  This add increase the heat level in the oven which we dont want
2) Engineer - This guy has a bag of bombs, killing him makes him drop that bag. Pick upp the bombs (one at the time) from the bag and move to the regulator. 

At this time, another Operator has probably spawned again so target the Operator again and rinse and repeat (If no adds spawned, nuke the Guard). 

Rinse and repeat this step until the Regulator is destroyed. When left side is destroyed, keep on killing the adds that spawn until right side is destroyed (maybe a dps can help the otherside, but liten to leader). 

Kill order on Right side - Blue Side

At this time, another Operator has probably spawned again so target the Operator again and rinse and repeat (If no adds spawned, nuke the mini boss Foreman). 

Rinse and repeat this step until the Regulator is destroyed. When right side is destroyed, keep on killing the adds and put some more prio on the miniboss Foreman. 

  • Each tank takes care of the adds on each side.
  • One side has the add Foreman Feldspar, use defensives
  • Interupt Foreman´s pyro.

  • Extra heal on player that has the bombs and will detonate.
  • Extra heal on the tank that handles Foreman Feldspar.
  • During whole phase 1, all raid members will take dmg from Blasts that periodically unleashes upon the whole room.
  • Heal ppl that got hit by Hot Blooded from Foreman

  • Prior list on killing adds are
    1) Bellows Operators
    2) Furnace Engineers
  • If you get the bomb, use it on the Heat Regulator.
  • Interrupt Pyroclasm that Foreman casts. Put him as focus target so you can easier detect when he will cast it, also make it easier for you to target him.

Phase 2 – The Heart is exposed

The Heart of the Mountain escapes from the Blast Furnace! Primal Elementalists join the fight in an effort to keep the Heart of the Mountain from destroying everything.

About Foreman Feldspar

He will get dmg alot on phase 1. But now, before dpsers nuke anything else, The Foreman needs to die! If he has alot of HP left and the dpsers in your raid is under avarage, you may use BL here. 

The Primal Elementalists needs to die 

The goal is to kill all 4 Primal Elementalists, however, adds spans at the same time..

  • The Heart of the Mountain is now outside the Furnace (immune) surrounded by the 4 Elementalists that keeps him immune.

  • Kill the elementalists (they don’t attack) one by one WHEN THE DMG SHIELD IS DOWN. Meanwhile kill adds.

  • Adds spawn from time to time that needs to be killed as well of course.

  • There are 3 types of adds: Slag Elementals, Firecallers and Security Guards

  • Prior are Slag Elementals.
    - They fixate raid members. They don’t die but becomes harmless at 1 HP.
    - They need to be at 1HP near a Primal Elementalists, because this makes their shield go down.
    - Important to dispell the “Reactive Erath Shield” that Primal Elementalists cast. This heals them (spellsteal works).

  • Firecallers needs to be interrupted as much as possible, since they cast nasty spells. One of them is Volatile Fire, a debuff that does aoe dmg, move 8y away from ppl if you get it.

After all Primal Elementalists are dead we step into phase 3. Remember that adds do not disappear after each phase. Remaining adds needs to be killed.

  • One tank handles security Guards, and tanks them away from other adds.

  • The other tank handles the Slag Elementalists and when it doesn’t fixate, tank them on the Primal Elementalists. And tanks the Firecallers.

  • Heal the player that gets affected by Fixate from Slag Elementalists, since they will take dmg when trying to position the Slags on the Primals.

  • If you get fixated and the Slag Elementalists is almost dead, kite it to the Primal Elementalists.

  • Kill the Slag Slag Elementalists when they are on top of a Primal Elementalists, then burn the Primal adds fast (since they will drop their shield)

  • Interrupt Firecallers

  • Move 8y from other players if you get affected by Volatile Fire.

Phase 3 – Freedom!

Now the heart of the mountain is totally out and can be attacked.

  • Kill remaining adds before attacking Heart of the Mountain.
  • Melt, is the only ability to worry about. The ground under a random player gets heated up and entering it gives dmg. Meaning, spread out.
  • Blast (periodical raid dmg) is still casted.

  • Tank boss where he is from start oh Phase 3.
  • Tank switch at 3 stacks of Heat.

  • Heal the raid A LOT. The Blast spell comes much faster.
  • Watch out for heated pools.

  • Nuke the sh.. out of Heart of the Mountain
  • Watch out for heated pools
