The Awakening the Machine event is an exciting challenge in World of Warcraft that takes place in the Halls of Awakening within the Ringing Deeps. This event was introduced in the War Within expansion and is currently available on the PTR for the upcoming 11.1 patch.
In this event, players assist Speaker Kuldas, an Awakener whose responsibility is to ensure that the ancient and newly awakened zones are functioning properly. The Ringing Deeps is metaphorically described as a great slumbering giant, and Kuldas is dedicated to its care and maintenance.
How to Start the Event
-
Location: To participate in the event, head to Gundargaz in the Ringing Deeps.
-
NPC Interaction: Speak to Speaker Kuldas at the coordinates /way 47.50, 32.03.
-
Choose “I´m ready for a Challange, Kuldas” if you want the challenged mode. But if you want to do the awakened machine activity as it was before, just simply press “I´m ready to continue”.
New Challenge in Patch 11.1
One of the significant changes in patch 11.1 is the introduction of a challenge mode for this event:
-
Increased Difficulty: Mobs will spawn faster between waves, adding an extra layer of challenge.
-
Continuous Waves: Unlike the previous version, you will not need to speak to Kuldas after every 5th wave. Instead, all waves will occur back-to-back without breaks.
Gameplay Mechanics
-
Starting the Event: After interacting with Kuldas, a UI will prompt you to click on “Begin Maintenance.”
-
Defend Kuldas: Your task is to defend Speaker Kuldas from 20 waves of mobs.
-
Checkpoints: Although there are no breaks in the new challenge mode, you will still receive a checkpoint every 5 waves.
-
End Boss Encounter: At the conclusion of the 20th wave, prepare for an end boss that you must defeat to complete the event.
-
Rewards: For every 5 waves completed, players will receive a chest, totaling 4 chests for completing all 20 waves.
More Challenges?
it's important to note that it is not the same as the Awakened Machine version that was tested prior to the launch of the War Within. But there are more time in PTR with more weekly updates, maybe the old version of Awkened Machine will arrive!
Here are some key factors that the old Awakened machine had:
-
Endless Waves: The previous challenge mode featured endless waves of enemies, providing a sustained test of endurance and skill.
-
Borrowed Powers: Players had access to borrowed powers, allowing for unique abilities and strategies that enhanced gameplay.
-
Diverse Mobs: The mobs in the earlier version were more challenging to tackle, requiring players to adapt their fighting style based on the different mob types.
-
Dynamic Environment: The environment itself was more interactive, with various elements to dodge and avoid, adding an extra layer of complexity to each encounter.
