Full Guide – Masks in Horrific Vision

Check out the Highlight Guide for ALL tips and trix needed to complete a 5 mask run. This is a full commentary run. 

Faceless Masks are used to get higher ilvl gear and more rewards from the chests in the end of the Horrific Vision and 20% increased Corrupted Mementos.

The Legendary cloak does not upgrade more just because you are using a mask in a Horrific Vision.

When you have collected a mask, you can activate or deactivate it in the starting zone before talking to Wrathion to start it. There are 5 altars around the circle on that platform. If an altar glows, you can interact with it.  If you are in a group, then only one player that has the mask is needed.

There are 5 different masks.

Each masks increase the dmg and health of enemies inside Horrific Vision by 25%.

Each mask has also a specific debuff on the player.

  • Faceless Mask of the Long Night
    Reduces Maximum Sanity by 50%.

  • Faceless Mask of the Burned Bridge
    Moving causes void zones to spawn in your path and drain sanity if standing within them.

  • Faceless Mask of the Daredevil
    All Sanity damage caused by creatures is increased by 400%.

  • Faceless Mask of the Pained
    Each area will consist of 2 Madnesses (instead of 1).

  • Faceless Mask of the Dark Imagination
    While below 50% sanity, occasionally an enemy of the void will spawn and attack you.

How to obtain the different masks

  • The first mask – Faceless Mask of the Long Night

    This is obtained when finishing an entire Horrific Vision.
    You must complete all 5 objectives in Orgrimmar or Stormwind.

  • Burned Bridge

    You must use one mask and enter Orgrimmar Horrific Vision.
    You must complete the objective Valley of Wisdom.

  • Daredevil

    You must use one mask and enter Orgrimmar Horrific Vision.
    You must complete the objective Valley of Honor.

  • Pained
    You must use one mask and enter Stormwind Horrific Vision.
    You must complete the objective Old Town.

  • Imagination

    You must use one mask and enter Stormwind Horrific Vision.
    You must complete the objective Mage Quarter.

The first mask you get

The first mask you get is the Long Night which reduces Maximum Sanity by 50%. That is actually the hardest mask. 

Once you get that mask, use it only once to achieve another mask on the next run. 

Do not use the Long Night ever again until you do a 5 mask run.
