The Enigmatic Talking Fish - Spotlight on the Hallowfall Side Quest

During our journey battling the kobyss in Hallowfall, players are introduced to an unexpected ally—a talking fish!

This peculiar fish is dropped by one of the kobyss foes along the northern shores of Hallowfall, leading us to embark on yet another adventure characterized by the intriguing voice of this aquatic creature.

In gratitude for our assistance, the Peculiar Fish offers its guidance, directing us toward nearby baubles and kobyss shrines to help us learn more about these beings and how to defeat them.

As we explore the kobyss shrines, our fishy companion shares insights into their beliefs through somewhat foreboding statements. While one might ponder if these are prophetic in nature, the player is more focused on the task at hand: collecting crystal baubles from the fallen kobyss in the vicinity.

Once we’ve gathered the necessary baubles, we return them to the Peculiar Fish, which magically transforms them into a charm that enables us to wield the kobyss' own magic against them, allowing us to eliminate their leaders. This combat challenge is swiftly accomplished, and we report back to the Peculiar Fish with news of our success.

The Fish expresses satisfaction with our actions and acknowledges that while it has delivered a lesson to the kobyss, our time together is concluding. We scoop the Fish from the water and journey to the farthest reaches of Hallowfall's cavern to return it to its home in the deep waters.

As we place our fishy friend back into its natural habitat, it sheds its illusion, revealing its true identity as a young Leviathan. A larger counterpart of its kind appears from the darkness, offering us both warnings and kind words before disappearing into the abyss of the sunless sea.

Much like the many secrets of Hallowfall, the cavern where Beledar resides remains a deepening enigma. It’s evident that the ocean below extends far beyond the immediate surroundings of Beledar, and creatures such as the kobyss and the leviathans indicate that the presence of the Light crystal is more of an anomaly than a common occurrence in this area.

As we explore deeper into Azeroth's subterranean regions, we may uncover more answers, but for now, these shadowy beings remain mysteries for another time. Our best response to the kobyss’ actions is the lesson imparted by our new companion: to respond with strength and resolve.

As a token of appreciation for our efforts, our 'fish' companion gifts us the **Fathom Incher** pet, which, to be fair, is just a regular slug. Nothing unusual about that at all!
