Blizzard Entertainment has always been known for sneaking clever easter eggs into World of Warcraft, and Patch 11.1, titled Undermine(d), is no exception. Among the many surprises in the Goblin capital of Undermine. I have discovered a delightful nod to the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (TMNT)!
The TMNT Easter Egg in Undermine
In Patch 11.1, players exploring the sewers of Undermine can stumble upon a group of familiar-looking turtles who have joined theRed Foot Clan(a playful reference to TMNT's Foot Clan). These turtles are cornering the leader of the Red Foot Clan,The Slicer, in a sewer hideout. Each turtle is cleverly named after their iconic bandana colors:
-
Blue: A nod to Leonardo, the disciplined leader.
-
Orange: Representing Michelangelo, the fun-loving jokester.
-
Purple: Paying homage to Donatello, the tech-savvy genius.
-
Red: A reference to Raphael, the hot-headed fighter.
Even their wise mentor, Splinter, makes an appearance! In true Blizzard fashion, Splinter is humorously represented as aDalaran Sewer Rat, a cheeky nod to his rodent origins.
April Cameraflash Joins the Fun
The TMNT easter egg doesn’t stop with the turtles. Players can also findApril Cameraflash, a clear reference to April O'Neil, the turtles' human ally. She can be spotted having a conversation with the turtles behind a house in Undermine. Her name is a clever play on her role as a reporter, tying into her iconic association with cameras and journalism.
